DUBFEST WALSALL.. UPDATE!

With the 5th session run and done.. DUBFEST @ The Afro Caribbean Centre, Walsall goes from strength to STRENGTH! Sending out POSITIVE Roots music vibrations across the Midlands and beyond. But as with any great uprising.. There will always be people who try spread negativity and seize any oppurtunity to air their unfounded comments and more to the point run off dem mouth with what amounts to nothing but LIES!!

I'm not gonna hide behind a nickname and i'm certainly not gonna withhold any thing to protect the innocent.. it's STRAIGHT TO THE HEAD! SOUNDSYSTEM STYLE!!

For too long the Midlands has been without regular SOUNDSYSTEM sessions and now that one is up and running we should support it 100%!!

It was unfortunatly pointed out to me about a disscusion on http://www.speakerplans.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=8827&PN=1 with reference to when Jah Yabbys where the guests at Dubfest in february.. contained many less than positive comments attached to it!!
Having read and reread this this discussion, i still struggle to believe people can take so much time to try and knock the very foundations UK soundsystem is built on!!
It seems the people who use this forum have a real gripe with KING EARTHQUAKE'S sound.. and will seize any oppurtunity to knock it and anything that might be connected to it! I really can't make my mind up.. do these people really not understand soundsystem culture? or is it jus wanna be sounds, who the big green eyed monster has taken hold of?
Errol himself is one of the most unasuming soundmen i have ever met, a softly spoken man who lives and breaths soundsystem! He takes his business very seriously and you only have to look at his set up to realise this, perhaps the camoflage warriorstyle scares the living daylights outta these people and causes them be so concerned with his business?
I have heard KE in many different venues and can say hand on heart that he has never disappointed me once and i personally really like his sound in the relativly small arena that is Dubfest Walsall!
I recall many conversations with Errol going back over the years about difficultites in getting somewhere to play.. The fustration was written all over his face that he couldn't find a venue in his home city to play on a regular basis! Now to see him stepping and dancin away behind his control tower as unleashes his latest dubplate or even when another sound plays something he likes is a delight to watch!
Without men like Errol we would have no soundsytem culture at all in this country, is that what these people want? I think not!
BIG UP AN BLESSINGS to THE KING OF THE MIDLANDS!

Fellow hosts at Dubfest Hytal Bosrah have played some of the best sets at soundsystems i have ever heard.. and yet these people chose to knock them with no just cause! They get better and better everytime i've heard them play and know for a fact that given there chance to show what they can do, they can more than hold themselves against the biggests sounds in this country! They too take what they do very seriously and play inna crystal clear way with nothing but positive vibes. Their bass drop has had Walsall bouncing on each and every outting there!! (even the 1st dance when so few of us showed up..)
It is Bush and Crew's enthuiasm that really inspired me to start this site, after talking with them and realising how important to them it is to re-instate soundsystem culture back into the Midlands!
Having met many soundmen.. i can honestly say HYTAL BOSRAH are definately the friendliest and helpful crew i have come across!
I personally do favour their sound in the area.. simplely because they play the sounds and in the style akin to my own tastes! Like minds and all that..
BIG RESPECTS to HYTAL BOSRAH! You KNOW you've got my support!!

Back to the commments on the speakerplan forum.. Everyone is entitled to their own point of view that goes without saying! So here's mine..

The dance in question was a great night and it was a shame Yabbys had problems with thier sound all night, Yes they did play some good tunes and one imparticular promped some very very heavy responses firstly from Bosrah and then topped by Earthquake! But as far tearing up a dance and mashing up a session Yabbys with big respects, where a country mile off! As said before Yabbys didn't get it together properly all night.. I'm sure they are better than the their showing at Dubfest, But i never seen them in action before so cannot comment on something i do not know about!
I do think this discussion may have started innocently as a request for info about the dance..
As it always makes for interesting night when an 'out of town' is entered into the arena! Having been to every session at walsall.. bar one! I can honestly say that both King Earthquake and Hytal Bosrah played the best i've heard them there that night, clean, true and sending out Jah message in the best ways they know how!!
KE and HB showed no disrespect towards Yabbys because they had problems.. If fact i've never heard either of them disrespect any other sound! When KE gives out his GREETINGS TO ONE AND ALL.. that's what he means! NO PREJUDICE is his message without question!
Hopefully one day in the future Jah Yabbys can make a return visit to walsall, and show us their sound.. free of techincal problems! We wait and see..

I have chosen to put this on here for two reasons.. one, i had too much to say! and secondly i will not enter into the mindless tit for tat, so many of these forums desend into!
There really isn't a need for the sort of thing that has been written on the above forum, it only brings bad feelings and irriation.. i know it won't stop but if the fools who choose to write such in badminded ways are exposed as the frauds they are more often, perhaps they might just keep thier wicked opinions to themselves!! NUFF SAID!

BIG RESPECTS TO ALL DUBFEST CREW and POSITIVE PEOPLE OUT THERE!
